Presenters: Professor Terhi Saaranen, University of Eastern Finland and Assistant professor Veronica Velasco, University of Milano-Bicocca

Positive staff wellbeing can increase productivity and engagement and improve job satisfaction. In the school setting it means that staff are better able to support pupils and each other and to contribute to learning success and educational quality. How can we build a sustainable school culture that keeps staff wellbeing in mind – even in times of uncertainty and rapid changes in policies and expectations. We will explore this field with two expert presentations focusing on the Promotion of occupational well-being in school communities (Terhi Saaranen/Finland) and School staff needs to face the COVID-19 pandemic as a health promoting school (Veronica Velasco/Italy). Following the presentations, we will have time for discussion.
