Social justice can be used to describe the type and context of the educational curriculum within an individual school. However, a practical definition of this can be difficult to define as it is different across cultural/political/social contexts and different academic disciplines. In education, social justice often means fairness, inclusiveness, and non-discrimination but even interpretation of these three concepts can vary considerably. Social justice incorporates values that are integral to individual and social well-being. For example, adolescents that have a sense of justice are more likely to exhibit pro-social behaviors that are associated with academic achievement and school success.
