Getting it right for every Child
Getting it right for every child (GIRFEC) is a Scottish program that supports families by making sure children and young people can receive the right help, at the right time, from the right people. Sometimes children might need a bit of extra help and support and that is what GIRFEC is for. GIRFEC is made possible by Children and Families Directorate under the Scottish Government
In the program families are offered to work in partnership with someone who can support them - for example teachers or nurses. The starting point is eight indicators that gives a common understanding of what wellbeing means which will help make all people involved: children, young people, parents, and the services that support them. Have a look at the indicators and the models that illustrate them.
